Meet Head Coach Zach Hewett: 

Zach Hewett is a 2003 graduate of Aptos High where he played Inside Linebacker for the Mariners.  After graduating from Aptos, he played for two years at Willamette University before injuries sidelined him for good.  Coach Hewett began coaching shortly thereafter at North Salem High and has spent the past 19 seasons on the sidelines of Aptos High, Salinas High, Piedmont Hills High, Gilroy High, and North Salem High Schools.  Coach Hewett was also the head Track & Field coach from 2016 to 2022 where the Mariners won 7 of 10 league titles, set numerous school records, and twice swept the league championships in the boys and girls Varsity and boys and girls JV divisions while also having all four Enzweiler award winners.

Coach Hewett teaches Weight Training and Competitive Sports (Athletic Weight Training) at Aptos High and serves as the Physical Education Department Chair.
